The Hindutva outfit also expressed serious concern and said the large-scale violence in Malda posed a "challenge" to the entire country.
"Due to its appeasement policy, the West Bengal government is not taking action and is unable to accept the challenge posed by 'jihadis'. It is a serious issue for the entire country. The Malda incident is a challenge for the country," VHP joint general secretary Surendra Jain said.
"VHP expresses concern over the developments and it seems it will have to take to the streets and launch a 'Jan Andolan' to force the state government to take action against the culprits," he said.
Wondering that no case of action has still been still taken against those indulging in violence, Jain said, "It seems the local TMC leaders are behind this, who enjoy the patronage of the state government."
Violence had broken out at Kaliachak on Sunday during a rally against alleged remark of a leader of Hindu group.
