Mamata announces sop for south 24 parganas

With an eye on upcoming Panchayat Polls in the state, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced several sops for the South 24 Parganas district.
"The previous government has nothing for development of this state. What we have done in last 20 months is much more than what has been done in 34 years of Left regime. We have announced various projects for farmers, minority students and girl students," said Banerjee,
"We have decided that all the girl students who will study in class 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 will get scholarships worth 500 rupees. If these girl students keep on studying till 18 years and want to pursue higher education then we will give rs 25,000 as scholarships, " she said.

Banerjee also slammed the previous Left regime of economically destroying the state by putting on huge debts on the state coffers.
"In spite of such economic problem, we have been able to generate huge employments in the state. We have distributed cycles among minority girl students," said Banerjee.
