The warning came 48 hours after an attempt by a section of promoters to demolish a school building in the northern fringes of the city at Baguihati in North 24 Paraganas district on Saturday.
"I am shocked to learn that they tried to demolish the school to construct a housing. Why should they have so much greed? There is a limit to it. We will not tolerate it. Do not think that I am weak," she said at a programme here.
Reiterating that political parties should stop practising "politics of vandalism", Mamata said, "This cannot go on. If required, come for discussions or give deputation ... It requires a long time to build something."
Hitting out at the Left parties, she said "politics of vandalism" lasted during their rule of 34 years in the state, but she will not allow it anymore.

"I will end this politics of vandalism. It is my challenge, my challenge ... My challenge," she said.
"After playing the politics of vandalism for 34 years you (Left) have forgotten to construct.. Bengal is now progressing, so do not try to create trouble. We want positive work and not destructive," she said.
"Delhi (Modi government) is threatening us almost everyday. People are eyeing West Bengal. They have become greedy for West Bengal ... But West Bengal is not weak. It is capable of facing them," the TMC leader added.
