West Bengal Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury today accused Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee of having an understanding with the BJP, and said it became clear today in the Rajya Sabha where her party fought alongside the ruling dispensation at the Centre against the Congress.
"The nexus between Modibhai and Didibhai (Mamata Banerjee) is clear now. In the Rajya Sabha the TMC is fighting along with the BJP against the Congress. They are raising questions on VVIP chopper deal. Those, who themselves have indulged in rampant corruption, are raising questions," Chowdhury said adding "this proved where the TMC stood politically".
Addressing a meeting here to protest against "post-poll violence", Chowdhury said, "The TMC is questioning the integrity and honesty of Congress by toeing the line of BJP. It was Congress which had ordered the probe in the VVIP chopper scam. What about the Saradha and Narada scam?"
Chowdhury also criticised the TMC supremo for her yesterday's statement charging a section of police officials with "unleashing terror" on the people at the behest of the Election Commission.
"She will not like it when the police has performed its duties without being her sycophants. She is threatening everybody - Election Commission, police," he alleged.
