After a few party leaders such as Humayun Kabir expressed dissent over choice of candidates in the Lok Sabha polls, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee today listed dos and dont's for them.
"The party supremo clearly said that there should be better coordination and cooperation between the district leadership and the candidates," said a party leader present at a meeting Banerjee had with candidates of all the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
"The district leadership will look after organisational aspects of every constituency. The district leadership will act as guide for the candidates," he said.
Amidst criticism by other political parties and party leaders like Kabir over giving tickets to film stars, sports personalities and singers, Banerjee yesterday in a Facebook Post had said that several new faces had been inducted to give the candidate list a truly representative look.
According to another leader, candidates have been given a list of achievements and development work of the Trinamool Congress government so that those new in politics could also get an idea of the dos and don'ts.
"The candidates have also been given an idea about what to say and what not to say to the media," said the leader.
Banerjee also advised candidates to campaign between early morning till 11 AM and in the evening during March-April and asked them not to use loudspeakers till the board examinations were over.
