West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today remembered the victim of the brutal Nirbhaya gangrape case that rocked the country in 2012.
"Remembering Nirbhaya on 3rd anniversary of brutal Delhi incident. We cannot compensate her loss but govt must stand by her family in every way," Banerjee wrote on Twitter.
Six persons, including a juvenile, had assaulted and raped the 23-year-old girl in a moving bus in south Delhi on this day three years back.
Nirbhaya, who was flown to a Singapore hospital, passed away 13 days later on December 29 2012.
