Speaking on the occasion of Singur Day on the sidelines of reopening of Dunlop's Sahagunj plant in Hooghly district, Chatterjee said, "I hope Tata Group's officials, understanding the language (of pain and suffering) of Singur people, will return the land of the unwilling farmers on their own."
Chatterjee hoped that people's voices will get reflected in the final order of the apex court on Singur and unwilling farmers will get back their farmland.
Farmers who owned some 400 acres of land in the Singur plot meant for Tata Motors for their Nano project factory did not accept compensation for their land.
