A person, who was arrested for allegedly obstructing official work and using foul language against a woman chief development officer (CDO), was set free by the police today.
According to an FIR filed by Mathura CDO Mathura Yashu Rustagi, Raghav Mittal, the director of the Brij Foundation, not only used unparliamentary language but also obstructed her official work.
Station house officer (SHO) of Sadar Bazar, Subodh Kumar Singh, said, "The complaint was received at5 pm and the FIR was registered later. A person cannot be detained in police station in the absence of a complaint."
However, the CDO said she had sent a complaint to the police station within a few hours.
Rustagi said she made an on-spot inspection of 'Vrindavan Parikrama' - the heritage city scheme project, after receiving a complaint against the Brij Foundation.
She said Mittal, who had reached her office with two others, not only questioned her about the spot-inspection of 'Vrindaban Parikrama', but also started using foul language, which led to a heated altercation between the two.
Rustagi said she had no option but to call the police and hand him over as he was disturbing official work.
