Jawad Ali, in his mid-30s, took the boy from his grandparents' house early this morning on the pretext of getting some juice, and allegedly killed the kid by smashing his head with a stone at a graveyard, Deputy Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana said.
As the boy's parents began to search for him, some locals informed them that they had seen Jawad and the boy going on a bike.
They asked Jawad, but he said he had not taken the boy anywhere.
Jawad allegedly confessed that he killed the boy. He had a dispute with the boy's family and was nursing a grudge against them, he told police.
A case under IPC sections 363 (kidnapping) and 302 (murder) was registered. Further probe is on.
