Suresh Kumar allegedly assaulted his 17-year-old daughter in the absence of other family members at Alempur Village last evening, they said.
Police registered a case against the father and arrested him after the daughter accused him of assaulting her and attempted to rape her.
The accused was yesterday produced before a local court which remanded him to judicial custody.
