Man arrested for extorting money using toy pistol in J&K

A person has been arrested today for allegedly extorting money using a toy pistol at Sopore area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir and a fake currency note with face value of Rs 1,000 has been recovered from him, police said.
"Hilal Ahmad Potoo was arrested near the bus stand in Sopore as he was extorting money from people by using a toy pistol," a police spokesperson said.
"A mobile phone, one fake currency note of Rs 1,000 denomination, Rs 850 and a toy pistol were recovered from his possession," he said.
Potoo has been arrested and a case has been registered against him, the spokesperson said, adding investigation is underway.
