Man arrested for online fraud in Gurgaon

Haryana Police today arrested a Jharkhand resident who used to allegedly cheat customers by misusing details of their debit cards while booking their air tickets at IGI Airport, New Delhi.
The accused identified as Mandeep Kumar, presently a resident of Mahipalpur, New Delhi, used to work at ticket booking counter of Air India, Terminal-3, IGI Airport, and he was arrested from Gurgaon a Haryana government release said.
The incident came to light when Sanjay Kumar Rajak, a resident of Nathupur village in Gurgaon, complained to Cyber Crime Cell that someone debited Rs 25,000 from his account by fraudulently using his debit card on the intervening night of April 28 and 29.
During investigation it was revealed that the accused, a B Com student, was working at the ticket booking counter of Air India since about a year and he used to note down important details like the debit card number, CVV number, expiry date, PIN number and phone number of the customers, it said.
Later, he used to shop online using these details, it said.
He has confessed to having used Rajak's debit card details for purchasing a tablet, mobile phone, bag and a wrist watch and all the items have been recovered from his possession, it said.
"Apart from this, he also confessed that he had cheated many people by using their debit card details," it added.
