A person, allegedly involved in the manufacturing and supply of country-made-guns to criminals, was arrested from Landajuali village under Ganjam district's Gangapur police station limit, about 70-km from here and forwarded to the court today, police said.
A single-shot pistol, several equipments meant for gun-manufacturing and a laptop were seized from the house of Purna Chandra Nahak during the raid, SP(Ganjam) AK Singh said.
Nahak, a graduate, has confessed of supplying three country-made guns to anti-social elements at a reasonable price, who approached him during last eight months, he said.
"A detail investigation will be done on his link with the groups who procured guns from him and his link with other manufacturers," the SP said.
The police came to know about Nahaka's illegal trade after it questioned a criminal involved in the loot of a petrol pump at Buguda on May 30, said inspector in charge, Buguda RK Dey.
Police have recovered a country made gun from Pappy Nayak of Aska, one of the accused in the petrol pump dacoit case and arrested him on Wednesday, Dey said.
