Man arrested for writing threatening leaflet

A man was arrested here after his name appeared in a leaflet, pasted on a house, allegedly threatening to kill local MLA and state Forest Minister Harak Singh Rawat and eliminate Hindu families residing in villages adjoining the town, police said today.
Shakeb Saifi was arrested yesterday after his name appeared on a leaflet threatening to kill the local legislator and also Hindu families living in Saneh, Durgapuri and Kishanpuri villages of Bhavar area adjoining the town has been arrested, Pauri SSP Harish Verma said.
The leaflet was found pasted on the outer wall of a house on Malgodam road and municipal authorities reported the matter to the police, he said.
Pro-Pakistan slogans were also allegedly written in the leaflet, he said.
The man is being interrogated and police deployment in the areas named in the pamphlet has been stepped up, he said, adding that the situation was under control.
