Delhi police today arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly harassing a group of women from Manipur in South Delhi's Lodhi Garden.
The five women complained that the accused was passing lewd comments at them.
The incident was reported around 5 PM when the women were walking in the park, police said.
The accused began to follow them and began hurling derogatory comments at them, they informed the police.
"The women initially did not notice him, but soon the accused began using abusive language and passing lewd comments," a police official said.
In the complaint, the women further said that while they confronted the accused, he continued to harass them.
"Offended by his gestures, the group of women made a PCR call and informed the police. While the accused tried to flee from the spot, he was arrested by the PCR team and sent to the Tughlak Road police station," a police official said.
A case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered against the accused at the Tughlak Road police station.
