Man arrested in Goa for posing as IPS officer

The Goa Police today arrested a man from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly posing as an IPS officer and moving around in a red beacon car.
Surya Prakash Pande, a resident of Allahabad, was apprehended in the wee hours when he was moving around in the tourist village of Nerul, 9km from here, police said.
Pande, who claimed to be an IPS officer, drove around in the car fitted with red beacon, disobeyed traffic signal and was even involved in a brawl at a local bar, they said.
He was dressed in police uniform and was using siren when intercepted and nabbed in the beach village around 3 AM, the police said.
