A man was arrested inTalcher town in Odisha's Angul district on Wednesday for allegedly spreading fake news on novel coronavirus, police said.The 25-year-old accused, who hails from Vikrampur in Colliery police station area, was arrested after his post claiming that a man from Banarpal area in the district had died of novel coronavirus infection in New Delhi was found to be fake, a police officer said.The accused was produced before a court which remanded him to 14 days in judicial custody, rejecting his bail plea.The incident comes a day after four persons were arrested in Kendrapara district for allegedly spreading misinformation about novel coronavirus.So far, one positive case of COVID-19 has been reported in the state.
