"Twenty-five-year-old Jaga Pahan, who returned home in Khallikote on Wednesday, was produced before a local court and handed over to his parents," inspector-in-charge of Khallikote police station, Sisir Mishra, said.
Last year, a police team had gone to Bihar and Jharkhand to trace him, he said.
Parents of Jaga were overwhelmed as they met their son after seven years. "We are very happy following his return. We had no idea about his whereabouts. There was no news from Jaga, who had been to Bihar for work, for the last seven years," Abila Pahan, father of Jaga, said.
"Since then I was running from pillar to post and complained to the police. We had lost all hopes as the police failed to trace him. We had even performed the last rites as per Hindu rituals," Abila Pahan said.
Two persons of the village, however, saw Jaga when he was moving near the village and they brought him to the house, he said.
