Rajiv has been sentenced to 15 years in jail with a fine of Rs 15,000 under section 376 of IPC (rape), five years and a fine of Rs 10,000 under section 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) and one year in jail and Rs 1,000 fine under section 417 (cheating), Additional District Government council Praveen Kumar Singh said.
He said the accused, who belongs to village Chatarpur in Shahjahanpur, kidnapped a daughter of his landlordon March 11, 2010 from a village falling under Baldeo police station.
Rajiv had also stolen gold ornaments and Rs 40,000 cash, he said.

Rajiv and his wife were nabbed from their Shahjahanpur residence from where the girl was also recovered, he said.
Both Rajiv and his wife were sent to jail, but the latter died during the trial period, Singh said.
During the argument the defence pleaded that he was falsely implicated.
