Man beaten to death over alleged 'love affair'

A 22-year-old man was today beaten to death at a "jan adalat" (people's court) after he was found allegedly in a love with a girl from a different caste, sources said.
Santosh Pandey was brutally beaten up at Narah village under Nawadih police station and he died hours after being admitted to a hospital, the sources said.
Police said they were investigating the veracity of the report that Pandey was allegedly in love with a girl from a different caste and was beaten up at a "jan adalat".
Pandey's family alleged that a local MLA, his brother and some other people were behind the incident.

When contacted, Superintendent of Police Jitendra Singh said the incident was under investigation and the filing of an FIR was in the process.
