Mohammed Iqbal's right ear lobe was torn off with a single strong bite by his 21-year old neighbour Raghumathkhan during an altercation over some petty issue at Keezhakarai, police said.
Showing presence of mind, Iqbal managed to pick up the ear lobe and rushed to the District Headquarters Government Hospital where doctors managed to sew it back with the ear.
Doctors said they performed a micro surgery and Iqbal was discharged within hours.
