A case under various sections of IPC was registered in this connection last night against Ranjit Singh of Thathibhal village for damaging posters of the film, they said.
The posters were pasted on the wall of a grocery store here, whose owner Sarbjit Singh is a Dera follower, they said.
According to the complaint given by Singh, the accused first tore the posters and then set them on fire.
No arrests have been made so far and the matter is being probed, they said, police said.
A week ago, two followers of the Sirsa-headquartered sect Dera Sacha Sauda were injured after they were allegedly attacked by a group of unidentified persons here when they objected to tearing of the film's posters by them.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been in the line of fire from different Sikh organisations, including the top temporal seat of the Sikhs Sri Akal Takht, over the film.
