According to the compliant lodged by the woman at Mahila Police Station here, she met her fiance on Internet and over a period of time they fall in love. They then met in person and decided to marry. Initially their families were against their marriage but later on they agreed and fixed August 11 as their marriage date.
However, once their marriage date was finalised, the man started demanding dowry and refused to marry if his demands were not met, the woman alleged.
On August 7, the man broke up the relationship, she said.
In another case, a pregnant woman lodged a complaint at Sector 20 police station alleging that her husband left her after marriage.
She alleged the husband has taken all her jewellery and cash with him.
