Man charred to death

A 59-year-old man was charred to
death under mysterious circumstances in a fire that broke out in his house in Kirti Nagar area of west Delhi, police said.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Karan Singh and he reportedly used to work with Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
"We got a call at around 8 AM that a fire has broken out at a house in Kirti Nagar area. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. After half-an-hour, the fire was brought under control.
"Karan Singh was found inside the house with burn injuries. He was rushed to the DDU Hospital where he was declared brought dead," said a fire brigade official.
Family members of the deceased said Singh was an alcoholic, police said, adding that liquor bottles were also recovered from his room, said police.
"The family members have said that he was in an inebriated condition when the fire broke out and could not call for help," said a police official.
Singh is survived by his wife and two sons. Police has denied any possibility of family dispute in this case, he said.
