Man detained under NSA for inciting clashes

A man was today arrested and detained under the National Security Act for allegedly inciting clashes recently between two groups in the town, police said.
The accused, who had been absconding for the past three months, had picked up a quarrel with a petty shopkeeper at Uchipuli here, following which he had tried to create tension there.
Police were led to him by a tipoff and the accused was detained on the orders of District Collector Nandhakumar.
Several criminal cases are pending against the man, police said.
