Rakesh Pundeer alias Pintoo was in an extramarital relationship with Preeti, Pundeer's wife Ritesh Kumari said in a complaint lodged with the police.
Kumari alleged that Preeti used to extort money from her husband by blackmailing him. She was pressurising him to sell his ancestral house and handover the proceeds to her.
Preeti's father Rajbir today called Pundeer to their home to settle some money related matter.
Kumari said that when Pundeer did not return home she went out in his search and found him lying unconscious in the locality. He was rushed to nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The postmortem report is awaited.
