The victim Bhonj Munda was sleeping at his wife's home when the miscreants barged in, dragged him out and fatally attacked with sharp weapon, the police said.
District Superintendent of Police Anish Gupta said the village panchayat was not happy over Munda's second marriage and had convened a panchayat, which the victim did not attend.
Stating this could be one of the reasons behind the assault, he said the police have begun investigation in this connection after a case was registered.
