Sukhija lost control over his scooter and fell. He was rushed to a nearby hospital with head injuries and died during treatment, the police said.
The businessman's family alleged that authorities concerned were to be blamed for the pothole that took his life.
The victim's son, Rahul, said, "No one from the authorities called us to express their condolence. It's always the taxpayers who suffer."
