A man was today flung to death by an elephant in West Bengal's West Midnapore district.
The victim, a 44-year old man and resident of Chandavilla village in the district, was flung to death when he entered the forest in Goaltore area this morning. He was killed on the spot, Forest department sources said.
The elephant was among the three who had got separated from a herd which entered the area from Dalma hills about a month ago, the forest sources said.
The three elephants had destroyed paddy fields in the area, the sources added.
