Man foils snatching bid, robbers arrested

An alert and brave citizen not only saved himself from the robbers but also helped arrest of a notorious snatcher in Model Town area of north west Delhi, police said today.
Sachin Kohli, 28, a Lucknow resident who was on a visit to his in-laws place in Mahendru Enclave in Model Town was going for some work yesterday when two bike borne robbers snatched away his gold chain.
Showing quickness and boldness, Sachin caught hold of the pillion rider and pulled him down. The motorcycle disbalanced and fell down while Sachin caught the man although his accomplice fled away from the spot, said Vijay Singh, DCP (north west).

Later, a PCR call was made and the caught man was handed over to the cops.
The man caught by Sachin was later identified as Vinay, 28, who was involved in at least 47 cases of robbery, Arms Act, and snatching. He is also a proclaimed offender of Shalimar Bagh police station, the officer said.
The brave-heart Sachin Kohli who is a property dealer in Lucknow is being rewarded for his valiant act, he said.
Vinay's accomplice has also been identified as a notorious robber Vishal and efforts are on to arrest him, officer said.
