According to the police, the deceased, identified as Ateeq Ahmed, was found hanging from the ceiling of his room. He was depressed over the failure of his marriage proposals three times in a row within a year, they added.
The incident was reported from East Delhi's Khajuri area in the wee hours, police said adding no suicide note has been recovered from the spot.
"Ahmed's family told us that within the last one year, his marriage had been fixed thrice but every time it was called off by the families of the girls," said a police officer.
