The court of First Metropolitan Sessions Judge yesterday convicted Mohammed Aslam Chawoos under section 6 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act besides under 366-A (kidnapping a minor) and awarded a five-year RI. Both the sentences will run concurrently.
Chawoos, an auto driver at Chandrayanagutta, who used to ply his seven seater auto found that the victim a student of a college in Santoshnagar used to travel regularly in his auto. He started teasing her and was even admonished by her, but he continued to trouble her, police said today.
Based on the complaint of victim's father, a case was registered by Santoshnagar police. Aslam was arrested on June 28. After conducting trial in the court the accused was convicted, a police release said today.
