A court in this Chhattisgarh district has sentenced a 29-year-old man to life imprisonment for killing his wife and two children in 2015.
Additional District and Sessions Judge (Katghora) Thomas Ekka yesterday pronounced Gayaram Kaushik guilty under IPC section 302 (murder) while sentencing him to life imprisonment, public prosecutor Shekhar Ram said today.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on him.
Kaushik, a native of Dhritara village, had killed his wife Ambika Kaushik (then aged 23) and two sons - Yuvraj (5) and Lucky (2) - on October 15, 2015.
Police had recovered the three bodies buried deep under a heap of cow dung in a field behind their home, the prosecutor said.
The police said during interrogation, the accused admitted that he had killed his wife after she refused to have sexual intercourse with him that day.
Later, in a fit of rage, he had also beaten up his two sons to death with an iron rod, the prosecutor said.
