Additional District and Sessions Judge Mehtab Ahmad also imposed a fine of Rs 36,000 on Matin Ansari after holding him guilty under sections 3(2), 5 of the Act and sections 376, 506, IPC. Of the amount, Rs 25,000 would be paid to the victim.
According to Public Prosecutor D C Shrivastava, on April 7, 2014, as the girl was on her way to the market, she was picked up, forcefully taken to a vacant house and gangraped by three men, including Ansari.
Subsequently, police filed a charge sheet against Ansari whilethe other two accused were given a clean chit.
