The court also imposed a fine of Rs 26,000 on the convict Narendra Lodhi for the crime.
The sentence was awarded by Additional District Judge D R Patil yesterday to Lodhi for raping his friend's daughter on September 25, 2012 and also making a video clip of the act.
According to Public Prosecutor Sarla Pande, Lodhi had developed close relations with the victim's father, who had a habit of consuming liquor.
On September 25, Lodhi forced his friend to drink liquor. Later, he offered some water mixed with sedatives to his daughter. After she fell unconscious he raped her and made a video clip of the crime.
However, the victim's father came to know about Lodhi's activities and caught him with the help of villagers and later handed him over to the police.
On the basis of the witnesses' statements and circumstantial evidences, the court awarded sentence to Lodhi under section 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and other relevant sections.
