hacked to death by a villager following a dispute over land at a village in Odisha's Malkangiri district, the police said today.
Arjuna Madkami (30) was killed allegedly by Rama Madhi (28) with an axe at village Nayakguda, about six km from here last night.
The victim was allegedly called from his house by Madhi and taken to a deserted place on the outskirt of the village where he was attacked with the axe, he said.
On the basis of an FIR lodged by the villagers, police detained Madhi and some of his friends, the sources said adding following interrogation of those detained, Madhi was arrested and the others were freed.
