A 30-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death by his father and his brother who also tried to cremate his body in a case of property dispute but their attempt was foiled after a village sarpanch informed the police.
According to police, the incident happened yesterday when Ravi, a daily labourer who was living separately and had been demanding his share in his ancestral property, was called by his father Ombir and his younger brother Dharmendra to their house here.
"They had an argument over the issue following which Ravi was hacked to death and his hands, legs and head chopped off by his father and brother.
"Later, they took his body on a tractor trolley to a cremation ground with the help of one Vijay and tried to cremate it after pouring petrol, but in the meantime, Ravi's wife Sunita came to know about his murder and informed the sarpanch, who in turn informed the police," a police official said.
Following which, the police rushed to the spot and doused the flames and took the half-burnt body in its custody and sent it for post-mortem, he added.
A case was registered on the complaint of Sunita and the matter is being probed, the officer said.
