Man hacks mother to death; injures her sister, niece

: Irked by his mother's refusal to give him his share of property, a man hacked his mother to death and seriously injured his aunt and niece who tried to block him at Chettivilai area today, police said.
Thangadurai fled soon after hacking them and a search was on to nab him, they said.
Police said he used to frequently pick up quarrels with his mother over the property issue. This morning he again did so and following his mother's refusal to give in to his demands, hacked her to death and seriously injured his aunt and neice.
The 58-year-old woman died on the spot.

The injured have been admitted to Palayamkottai Medical college hospital where their condition is stated to be serious.
