Socrates last night handed over the bombs which were immediately defused by the police personnel by immersing them in water.
He told the police that the bombs were given to him by two persons with a request to hoard it in his house, police said, adding they were searching for the persons who gave the crude explosives to him.
The incident comes over a month after eight persons were killed and two houses razed to the ground when a bomb some persons were making went off "accidentally" in their hut in Idinathakarai, about 15 km from the KNPP, on Nov 26.
However, Udhayakumar had denied any role in the incident following which security was tightened and searches were held resulting in recovery of two bombs last month.
Police have also said two groups of fishermen in Idinthakarai village had been frequently clashing with country bombs and had been storing them in large quantity in the village.
Police said today that they were now planning to keep a close watch on the two groups to prevent any untoward incident.
