Supratik Kumar Banerjee (37) a resident of Kolkata, was arrested on Wednesday for opening the fake office in the heart of the city in Connaught Place and promising jobs in the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, police said.
"Information was received through PCR that some people have gathered at Palika Bazar parking as the process of recruitment for DMRC was underway. On this, a team from Police Station Connaught Place reached the spot and found Banerjee conducting interview of several unemployed youths," Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) S B S Tyagi said.
"But the situation was creating suspicion as he himself was issuing appointment letters for several posts, including TC, Supervisor and personal assistants. He was also fixing the salary of these posts on the spot," Tyagi said.
"Furthermore, he was obtaining the security bond affidavits stating that no one can leave his or her job without completing one year of service. He was also collecting the age and qualification documents," he said.

The police team conducted a detailed inquiry/verification and found that Banerjee was arrested earlier in Sarojini Nagar when he was allegedly found indulging in human trafficking and cheating several persons, he said.
A case under various sections of the IPC was registered at Connaught Place police station and Banerjee was arrested, he said.
During his interrogation, it was revealed that he was inspired by Bollywood movie 'Special 26' and decided to earn easy and fast money in the same manner, police said.
The team also recovered a computer, 13 forged appointment letters, 156 bond affidavits, 168 resumes of unemployed youths, 107 blank appointment letters and other documents. Further investigation is in progress, police said.
