Man held for extorting rail passengers

A man from Haryana was arrested here by RPF personnel on charges of extorting money from passengers of a train.
A passenger of Darbhanga Express complained to Railway Protection Force (RPF) attached to the Secunderabad Division that one person was threatening co-passengers of the coach reserved for disabled with a pistol and extorting money from them, a release by South Central Railway said.
After the complaint, RPF, along with Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel apprehended one Manoj Kumar Yadav, belonging to Bhiwani district at Kazipet in Warangal district of Telangana on Monday.
After his search, Yadav was found possessing Rs 15,000, which he had extorted from other passengers.
"The pistol, which was recovered from the accused, was found to be a toy pistol. The man was handed over to the Government Railway Police, Kazipet for further action," the release added.
