Man held for hacking to access private company information

A man has been arrested on charges of hacking official email IDs of a private company with branches all over Andhra Pradesh and downloading confidential information, the police said here today.
Sleuths of the Cyber Crime Cell at Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested the accused named Gurazala Venkateswara Rao from Narasaraopet town in Guntur district, on March 4, they said.
After interrogation, the accused confessed that he had a dispute with the company and had filed different civil as well as criminal complaints before various courts and the police against the company.
The accused decided to access the company's information by hacking its email IDs in order to forward the same to others and thus defame the company.
In pursuance of his plan, Rao colluded with a former employee of the company, S Rama Krishna, who is absconding and sent emails using two fictitious email IDs to various branches of the company, seeking some information and email passwords, the police said.
Later, the accused hacked and accessed official email IDs of the company and downloaded confidential information.
Due to these acts of the accused, the security of the information relating to the company was at stake, the police said.
