Man held for illegal mining

A man was arrested today in connection with alleged illegal mining and two trucks loaded with sand were seized from his possession in Kasna area near here, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, the accused, identified as Israr Khan, a resident of Etawah district, was nabbed while he was operating the illegal activity, SSP Preetinder Singh said.
Two dumpers of sand were also seized from him, Singh said.
The drive against illegal mining will continue and mining mafias will be put behind bar, the SSP added.
