A 23-year-old man has been arrested on charges of marrying a minor girl after sexually assaulting her while three of his relatives have been booked for abetting the offence, the police said today.
Based on a complaint by the mother of the 17-year-old girl, a police team arrested the man identified as Syed Asif, who had married the minor, from Delhi on June 2 and rescued her.
Three relatives of the accused were also arrested yesterday, a release from Hyderabad Police said.
According to police, Asif after befriending the girl, on the pretext of marriage forcibly had sexual intercourse with the victim at her house in Yakuthpura here.
After she started pestering him to marry her, the accused told some of his relatives.
They allegedly abetted in committing the offence and performed the marriage of the girl with him even after knowing that she was a minor, police said.

After the marriage, the accused first took the girl to Mumbai from where he took her to Delhi as per the instructions of his relatives, police said.
Police are searching for three other accused in connection with the case.
