The Special Operation Group (SOG) of UP Police last evening arrested Sunil Pandey (35) from a railway station here for threatening women constables and police officers including SHOs, SP (City) Man Singh Chauhan said.
Pandey, who works as a security guard with a private agency in Delhi, used to threaten police officials over phone posing as DIG Alok Singh of Women Helpline, he said.
Constable Roshina had five days back complained that a person claiming to be DIG Alok Singh threatened her, Chauhan said, after which an FIR was lodged on her complaint.
Police traced the accused's mobile number and held him from the railway station here last evening, the SP (City) said.
The accused, who had threatened over 40 police officials in the past few months, said that he "enjoyed" doing so.
Pandey, who hailed from Sant Kabir Nagar district of the state, had purchased SIM card on fake Ids for the purpose, the officer said, adding he has been sent to jail.
