Man held for murdering migrant labour

A 42-year-old man has been arrested on the charge of murdering a migrant labour from Odisha here last month, police said today.
Manoj, who hails from the district was arrested following a detailed investigation into the death of Bikari Dacua, a native of Odisha's Gunjam district, they said adding Manoj had killed Bikari for money.
Both of them used to work together as mason.
Bikari's body was found in a decayed state on July 7 in Chungam, Kottayam, police said.
Knowing that Bikari used to keep a minimum Rs 5,000 in his pocket, Manoj on July 2 invited him to a secluded place in Chungam under the guise of giving him a manual job.
But he beat up Bikari till he fell unconscious only to find that he had only Rs 500 cash.
Based on key evidences from CCTVs which showed Manoj and Bikari standing together, police arrested the accused.
