Man held for smuggling gold worth Rs 50 lakh

A man has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold bars valuing about Rs 50 lakh.
The accused was intercepted by customs officials at the airport on his arrival from Bangkok here on Saturday.
Ten gold bars weighing 1.8 kg were found concealed in his trouser, a customs official said.
The gold was seized and the passenger was arrested, he said.
