Man held for stealing cash, gold worth Rs 3 Lakh in Kashmir
Press Trust of India Srinagar A man was today arrested for stealing cash and gold jewellery worth Rs three lakh from a house in Baghat Barzulla area where he was was working as a domestic help, police said.
Sandeep Ghansi, a resident of Jharkhand, was arrested at Nowgam railway station here while he was trying to flee with the stollen items, which were recovered from his possession, they said.
On a complaint filed by Fayaz Ahmad Mutoo, in whose house Ghansi was working as a domestic help, a case has been registerd by the police and manhunt was launched to nab the accused, police said.
Police said Ghansi used to work as a domestic help in the house of Fayaz Ahmad Mutoo in Baghat Barzulla area of the city and had fled after stealing gold ornaments worth three lakh from the house.
