A 28-year-old man, carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, was arrested from Madhya Pradesh for allegedly supplying illegal arms to criminals in the national capital and its neighbouring states, officials said Friday.

The accused was identified as Mohammad Israr (28), a resident of Etawah district in Uttar Pradesh, they said.

According to DCP (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, on May 21, 2018, two associates of Israr, identified as Vineet Kumar and Ram Kumar, were arrested with 21 semi-automatic pistols and 42 live cartridges.

During interrogation, both accused disclosed that they have procured the illegal firearms from Israr, he said.

Later, Israr was arrested from Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district, the DCP said.
