Robert, who was arrested in 2005 along with his father Joseph for cheating an Irish national, was arrested again yesterday by police following a specific tip-off.
After arresting him, police recovered a number of electronic gadgets, wallets and other articles from his possession.
With his arrest, police claimed to have solved four cases of drugging and decamping with goods of foreign tourists.
During interrogation, Robert said he acquired fluency in spoken English and became a tourist guide for foreign tourists.
"But his earnings were not enough to meet his needs as he was fond of wearing branded clothes, shoes and using costly perfumes. In order to earn quick money he, along with his father, decided to rob foreign tourists of their belongings. In 2005, they were arrested," Ashok Chand, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime and Railways, said.
After his release from jail in 2011, he again decided to start robbing foreign tourists after drugging them.

Chand said Robert used to get close to the tourists using his language skills and would invite them for dinner. While taking them out in an auto-rickshaw, he would give them biscuits laced with sedatives.
"After they became unconscious, he used to decamp with their belongings," he said.
